Deadliest train route of India

India has one of the most Deadliest train routes which was also presented in the Top 5 Deadliest train routes list in the world.

This train route runs from various parts of India to Rameshwaram Junction, Tamil Nadu. Rameshwaram is an Island in Tamil Nadu that can be reached by either road or a  railway bridge. What makes this train route Deadliest is the railway bridge was built on top of the sea.

This  Deadliest railway bridge is known as Pamban Bridge. This bridge is India's first sea bridge. This bridge is close to 2.06 km long, and it also has lifting spans in the middle that allow the tall ships to pass through.

Why this railway bridge was considered dangerous? It is because this bridge doesn't have any side walls to support it, hence mild mistake while driving here may create Collateral damage. This bridge was originally built in the year 1911 and was in use since 1925 but after the cyclone in 1964, it was reconstructed.

In 2023 February when the train was passing through the Pamban Bridge the danger alarm rang (Some news channel says due to the small cracks) and the train was stopped on the bridge in the middle of the sea. After some inspection, the train again started its journey and reached Rameshwaram to end the Bridge's final journey because that was the last journey of the old Pamban Bridge. The new bridge construction was also about to end and hope to travel on the new bridge soon.
