Book review: Thorn of Secrets by B. Truly

Title of the Book: Thorn of Secrets

Author: B. Truly
Narrated by: Miranda Sprague and Jamiel Cal-Pin
Format: Audiobook

Audiobooks have become my new favorite in recent days and the first ever audiobook I tried was the previous parts of this 'My Darkest Secret series'. The reason I chose this book was I felt like I wanted to try some romantic and emotional story narrated by other voices, when we read the book the reading voice will be ours but when we listen in audio format the experience is totally new and it was really worth it.

The story of this second part also starts with Madison's life from where she was left. After the heart-throbbing event that happened in her life, she now tried so hard and moved on. Now she and Justin are getting a moment on their relationship and trying hard to get closer to each other irrespective of their situations. But her life again intervenes some pains and surprises also some secrets.

This book can be tagged under the thriller genre. I could not even assume what the story has in it to unfold in each chapter, the plot is unpredictable and I really loved that. Though the story is about Madison I somehow like how Justin's charcter was created because his characteristics were so evident and it elevates the story from my point of view.

The story moves at the same phase of speed from the beginning, though this book has a thriller genre, no fast-moving plot twists were presented in this book. There is some mature content in this book and I would strictly suggest only adults to read this book. The author could have provided us with the elaborated outline of the previous part and Madison's life details as the preface in this book, which could have added even more depth to the story. In the first book, the life of Madison her pain, and the struggles she underwent to overcome the same was the core of the story. In this second part, we can assume the previous part's story outline and it is somehow evident in the narration. The voice of both the narrators was perfect with clear pronunciation. The male voice was manly and the female voice was very expressive and emotionally fulfilled.
