Book Review : Sonar The Crashing Audiobook by author B. Truly

Sonar The Crashing Audiobook Written by author B. Truly.

Narrated by: Des M. Astor & Scott Calhoun

The two main characters of the story are Shiray and Bryan, but various other characters, such as Syria and Nile, also play important roles. Shiray is from another planet, while Bryan is a prince on Earth. Despite their differences, they fall in love and eventually get married.

A war breaks out on Shiray's planet with a neighboring world, and to win this war, they need certain resources from Earth. To obtain these resources, Shiray, Bryan, Syria, and Nile travel to Earth in their spacecraft. However, due to a malfunction, they land in different places, become separated, and even lose their memories. Do read the book or listen to the audiobook to learn more about this story.

Now, let’s jump into my review of this book. The main characters are teenagers and young adults, and I can really feel the peppiness in the story. There was an alien-based movie named Aliens in the Attic that I loved a lot, and while listening to this audiobook, I got the same vibe as that movie, as the characters in this book are also young, active, and brave at the same time.

The romance in this book, along with some intense and detailed scenes, was quite captivating. To be honest, experiencing these in audiobook format was new to me and felt different. I’ve heard of the term déjà vu but hadn’t read any books that explored it; this book checked that off my list as well. This story has and blends with all emotions, action, a bit of sci-fi, and more. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

The narration was clear and well-paced. The narrators’ voices matched the story perfectly. The female voice was filled with emotion, effectively portraying the feelings of the characters in those particular chapters. The male voice was deep and resonant, enhancing the overall experience. I loved both voices for two different varieties of voices.
