Felt less like fiction and more like truth


Reading Dogisthaan was unlike any reading journey I’ve had. It felt like being confronted with truths I already carry in my heart. As someone devoted to caring for our canine allies, the book resonated deeply, reminding me that the dog-human symbiosis is far more profound than simple companionship. It is a pact of loyalty and guardianship, one that asks us to give back the unconditional love dogs so freely offer. The prose stirred a quiet unease in me, balanced by moments of wonder, as if urging me to look closer at my own bond with strays and pets. For me, it was less fiction and more a soulful call to responsibility.

Dynasties of Devotion: The Secrets of 7 Iconic Hindu Temples , written by Deepa Mandlik and translated from Marathi by Aboli Mandlik. The reason I chose this book is because of its title and the majestic cover image of the Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple . Being a Hindu, I truly adore temples and the positive vibes I feel when visiting them. If there's a book that talks about the iconic temples of India—and especially if it features South Indian temples—it automatically makes its way onto my reading list. Surviving all odds What can I say about this book? From childhood trauma to failed marriages, from unfulfilled longings and bad decisions to unsupportive colleagues, every step that the author decides to take is filled with uncertainty and difficulties. In spite of this, she rises like a phoenix and urges the readers to do the same. The themes in the book can definitely take you down memory lanes as the narrative is so real and relatable. The best thing about this book is that it doesn't claim to be the absolute authority or lay down concrete rules.
