Why I Started to Like the Old Songs That I Once Hated
It’s funny to think about how my taste in music changes drastically over time. When I was younger, I used to find old songs boring and would often switch to something else. I didn’t understand why people loved them so much. They were slow, outdated and nothing like the energetic tracks I enjoyed back then. But now, as I have grown older, I have started to appreciate them and even love them in a way I never did before.
Old songs have a melody that touches the heart. They are not just noise or beats, but real music with emotion. The tunes are soft, soothing and easy to hum along with. There is something warm and peaceful about them that helps me relax after a long day and calms my anxious mind like no other. They don’t rush; they flow slowly, letting you feel every word and note.
As I have matured, I have also begun to enjoy songs that have meaning in their lyrics, and old songs have that abundantly. In old songs, we can find themes of love, lust, betrayal, joy, hope, and more also the list is endless. Now, when I listen to them the emotions catch me perfectly and resonate deeply. Sometimes when I wanted to cry these songs comfort me so warmly and the song with the moral kind of happens to be an eye opener as well. Also, let me not forget it also takes me to the time where I am young, carefree and innocent.
I guess it’s true that as people and their tastes might change when their hearts open to different things. The songs I once skipped are now the ones I loop endlessly. Maybe it’s not that the songs changed—it’s that I did.

Old songs have a melody based on classical music tradition. Also, the accompanying music was similar along with soft voices. Now, the world has become harder. I find old songs very therapeutic. #blogchatterhalfmarathon

DeleteYou have described so well why old songs are loved. If you play Antakshri you will remember only old songs. At that time we had only radio to listen to yet we remember those songs. These days you have music everywhere but all of them last only a few months.

ReplyDeleteWhat you said is absolutely true. All of us find our tastes changing as we grow older. The melody and the meaning in the olden goldies can never be denied. Even today, when I cook, I ask Alexa to play me my old favourites.
