A Myna Flies by Sidharth Kanattil. I like the title a unique title though.
I like how the author created this story in such a way that we cannot assume the story outline or the end (in many books I do figure it out) of the book. By reading a few pages you can not get the full taste of the book and once you have tasted you can not leave the book unread in the middle. I really love this kind of writing from the debut writer.
About the story:
The book is set up in an early East India company period. The main characters are Amar Singh Chaudhry a wealthy landlord (who is staying in Shahjahanabad and family connection in Calcutta) his children Golu and Radha also, Rana the chief rifleman of Amar Chaudhry and his son Ratan Rana. All were staying and living together.
There was also the tribal people who are living and many wants and tries to get their land. One day suddenly due to some mistake of Amar Chaudhry planned something and it turned out to be the problem. To know what is the problem? Why he created it? you need to read the book.
My review:
This book is an adventure and thriller based genre. It touches all the core of that time and I can visualize that clearly with the author's word. The lifestyle of that time has been said clearly. How the rich people treat the tribal and the East Indian company and all were said clearly. Not even a single page there is no unwanted exaggeration (a surprise from the debut authors). There are too many characters in the book but still, I did not get any confusion on the author's writing. An awesome story I am thoroughly amazed.
I like:
1. The cover and the name
2. The way the author narrates the adventure.
3. Simple yet strong vocabulary and the langue.
4. The overall thrill and feel which I receive
5. The introduction is given about the characters in the introduction page.
