Come let's find the realistic tried and tested, tips and tricks to overcome your Kid's internet addiction habit

Internet is a well-known word for everyone these days. These days kids and teens are using the internet and its technologies at ease, it is good really good only if it is within a limit. Do you think these days kids, teens, and even some adults are spending only the desired time on the Internet/Screen? The anwer is big giagantic NO.......

I know that you are screaming now that your kids, nephews, and cousins too spend more time on the internet and you are kind of scared that will they fall into the pit of internet addiction.

Don't worry let me provide you with some realistic tips and tricks to overcome their excessive screen time and internet addiction along with some tools that can be useful and helpful for parents.

I have a Nephew who is 3 years old and since her 1st birthday, she started to watch cartoons and rhymes on YouTube channels and television. Recently when she was watching YouTube I randomly observed her closely,  she didn't even blink and out of all when the net buffers she became very anxious. Really at the age of 3 getting anxious and angry is not a healthy or good habit.

Even she refused to go shopping with us (which she loved) and instead, she asked us to stay home with her so that she could watch TV or the Smartphone. My entire family was shocked and decided to follow some tips and tricks which worked tremendously for us.

1. Reduce and Control Your  Screen Trimming:

I know this will be a tough one, but please the parents and adults who are around the kids should reduce their internet usage and screen timing and instead, you can do some activity, play with kids, or even read.

Let us just think about this when we are kids both our parents work or our mom takes care of the house, grandparents do little household chores and take care of storytelling, etc. Then we play with our neighbors and even with our grandparents. But now we are watching something on the internet and our kids follow the same. The painful truth is these days many parents yell at their kids when they ask questions or talk while they are watching the internet or TV serials. Please control your screen timing and spend time with your kids.

2. Have a good routine:

Having a good and healthy entire-day routine will immensely change the overall life quality. Have habits of having no internet or any gadgets before and after 2 hours of sleep. I know... I know... lying on the bed and watching a TV/ mobile phone is kind of an awesome feeling, but definitely, that does nothing good to our health instead it has lots of bad side effects.

Make sure you wake up early, move a bit in the form of exercise, eat healthy home-cooked meals and of course enjoy an hour or two max of internet/screen timing. Try to sleep before 11 to 11.30 Pm max (this is a must-try step).

3. Keep an eye on their screen:

Another important step that everyone must follow to overcome their kid's internet addiction is to use some parental control devices and apps to take control of their internet content. If you want me to give you some suggestions on a good and trustworthy safe net for kids I would suggest Happinetz.

Happinetz is a safe internet for kids box that connects to your home router wired or wirelessly. It has a Customizable internet schedule and no need to download apps on your child's device. Plus it is quick and can filter websites and apps as well. Please check the end of the blog for the Happinetz link.

4. Step up a beat:

The one step that helped my nephew in real time was dancing. Yes... You heard me right we started to play a song on any device and dance to that beat, In my home recent beat is What Jhumka?

P.S: It is also a good form of cardio and you may lose a few inches around your hips.

5. Tips for teens:

Make sure that they are not using earphones/headphones these are the main culprits for the starting of addiction and they are also bad for those delicate ears. At first, they may struggle later they will get used to it.

In addition, no YouTube shorts, Instagram reels, or games. Trust me people who are under internet addiction will fall under any of these categories.

Finally, internet addiction will make kids impatient and anxious at some point, so prevention is always better than cure. Make sure you watch your screen with happiness and not with an addiction.

See you guys on my next blog soon.
