Book Review - Hot Stage written by Anita Nair

Hot Stage written by Anita Nair. This book will come under the thriller genre.

The book title may look simple but the story definitely has its thrills and chills for its genre. The cover image complements the book's inner content.

I am not new to this author's work and I have read a couple of her works prior to this and out of all I love her book 'The Better Man'. Does this book beat that made it into the top list? do read the review to find the same.

The main protagonist of this book is  Borei Gowda as you can find from the book cover. Let me provide you with a brief outline of the story. The story takes place in Bangalore where a wealthy old Professor Raghava who is in his eighties was found dead by his daughter. His daughter married someone out of his religion hence she was not with him. In order to solve this case there comes Gowda and the story takes its spike from there. Yes, this book has a case-solving kind of story but more than that we can also find corruption, fiance, and power sort of influence in the story.

Now let's speak about my my review. The story is good and intense, and the narration is very detailed as well. I like how the main lead's personal life was also included in this thriller read without diverting us from the story's path. The scenes presented in the book were very clear and while reading I felt like I was watching a movie that was directed perfectly by its director. The suspense and thriller presented in the book remain till the end page, so after completing this book I felt very satisfied as well.

The story remains and reminds us that it is happening in the Banglore on each and every page. Sometimes even while reading I can feel the footsteps of the character in the story while reading because the story was flowing too neat and clear. The vocabulary presented in the book is top-notch, every budding reader should try this book, saying that beginners may face a slight challenge while reading the same. A perfect case-solving thriller and for this winter and Christmas timing this warm thriller will be the perfect match.

Though the plot was very interesting I felt like the extremely detailed narration slowed down the reader's urge and the thriller feeling a teeny tiny bit. This book was huge with close to 400 plus pages and the font was too small for this hence I couldn't read the book for so long time even though the story is gripping and intresting to read. It took me more than twelve days to complete reading this book. Overall it's a very good read but it still does not get the first place in my list of this author's work. If you are someone who would like to read a good and perfect soft thriller then you can surely give this book a try.
