Book Review: All He Left Me Was a Recipe by Shenaz Treasury (This review is powered by Blogchatter Book Review Program)
All He Left Me Was a Recipe written by Shenaz Treasury. This book can be tagged as a fiction and non-fiction mixed genre.
The title of the book is fair enough for me to choose this book and give it a try. Also, I love the cover image because it has the author's image surrounded by the healing hearts which makes a lot of sense and reciprocates well with the book's inner content.
Let us be honest to ourselves and reply to this question How was your break-up(s)? How did you cope with your break-up(s)? No, don't say 'I am so busy in my life no time for love', 'I am very busy focussing on studying', 'I am very career oriented' etc. Let us be frank, Almost everyone must have/will have love in their life, some might express it and some might not. If your honest answer to my above question is "YES" then this book is for you and you will love this book.
This is such a realistic and reality-filled book and right from the introduction part I was able to feel those and it continued even while reading the stories presented inside. The author herself is a travel vlogger and she grew up in different countries so we can find the different places and the different recipes in this book. The writing skills of the author were so precise and detailed while I was reading about the stories happening in France and Singapore I felt that I was living in that country and witnessing that story with my own eyes and ears. This book has a total number of twenty-two chapters in it and each chapter's character reflects and grows along with the chapter number with different stages/age group's love and break-up.
The main characters of all these stories were felt kind of revolve around the NRI/upper rich class kind of characters (I felt some chapters made me imagine the main character as the Poo from K3G), I think you can understand the idea that I am trying to explain in here. This book should be in your girls' outing/vacation read and you will like it to read on travel.
The storytelling skills of the author were mild-blowing, the way she wrote made us think that we were listening to all this content from a very close friend. The tiny diagrams presented in between the pages and the sticky notes shaped 'Lesson learned' column all these gave me a cozy vibe. I expected the authentic recipes with the exact measurements in this book but that was missing and I felt a tiny bit sad about that as the recipe mentioned in the title was not what I expected.
The writing felt so friendly and it gave me a calm and cool chitchatting kind of feel. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book it is such a lite and refreshing read. The language presented in this book is very rich and I can feel the Bollywood vibe in the narration. Though the book is very neatly presented with its narration the word choices add the crown to this narration.
