Book Review: Sailing Through Life: Life Lessons For Young Adults by Varun Wadhwa
Sailing Through Life: Life Lessons For Young Adults written by Varun Wadhwa. This book falls under the self-help genre. The title reflects its theme perfectly. I also like the colorful cover design.
I am someone who loves to read both fiction and non-fiction, by non-fiction, I mean self-help books. This month, my self-help read is 'Sailing Through Life: Life Lessons for Young Adults.' Although the title specifies 'For Young Adults,' I believe this book can be enjoyed by anyone. I think the author included that phrase because young adults need some extra guidance during their age.
This book serves as a guide for younger generations, particularly when they are making important life decisions. Since the life lessons presented are based on the author’s own hits and misses, they feel real, raw, and deep. The book also includes some spiritual and meditation guidance. Topics covered include overcoming shyness, the importance of speaking up, how failure molds us, how to use our minds, and adopting a giver mindset, etc. At the end of each chapter, there’s a 'Success Tip' box, and the tips presented there are both useful and interesting to read. This book is detailed, and reading it slowly enhances the overall experience. The narration feels more like a conversation than a traditional reading, which I really appreciated.
Most of the content in this book was my favorite, but the introduction truly stole my heart. At the beginning, after a basic introduction, there’s a subtitle named 'Why Read This Book?' This section is realistic, friendly, and even quite funny. Next, in the introduction, we encounter the subheading 'How to Read This Book?', which is my favorite part. Here, the author discusses how we should approach reading this book to maximize its benefits.
