Book review - The Ex Factor by Harini Srinivasan

Image
T he Ex Factor written Harini Srinivasan. This book will come under the contemprory romance fiction genre. The book has a title which pretty much provides us a hint of the story. Now let's talk about the cover image, I absolutely love the image it gives the retro vibe with the girl wearing a choker, and sunglasses, her hairstyle, and the color choice of the cover. The main protagonist of the story is Oindrilla Roy aka Oinks, and along with her, there are a bunch of characters such as Vivek, Dhivya, Ankita, etc. are presented in the book and play an important role in the story. Our lead Oindrilla is working in an NGO and she had a crush/interest on someone long back and also got rejected by that person. Now in the present for her work purpose, she wants to travel to Shillong and there she encounters Vivek again who is that crush. So the story is going to be about second-chance love and romance alone? That's where the author has given us the twist Our lead Oindrilla is funny and

Blog Post - Top 3 Books That Made Me Ugly Cry

Image
T op 3 Books That Made Me Ugly Cry As a reader, I always prefer fictional novels and that too romantic fiction because those are mostly light reads with happy endings. I also try to switch the genre of my books often to avoid the reading slump from reading romances. On such occasions, I used to read some great books and after reading it would make me emotional, weak, and cry badly. Here are the Top 3 books that made me cry so badly and ugly.  1. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes   This book made me cry within the first few chapters after knowing that the main lead was paralyzed. The bonding between the two main leads is brilliantly presented in this book. The book portrays the love between the main leads from 'Hate to Friendship and then Friendship to Love'. Their movie time, their trips, their first kiss everything was so perfect. But the ending of the book made me cry ugly Why! Why! Why! he chose the Dignitas. Why did he choose suicide? Though the justification he gave for his dec

Blog Post - How did my book-reading journey started

Image
H ow did my book-reading journey started When I was a little girl I used to see lots of regional books filled the entire shelf of my dad's room. He is very generous and will always allow me to touch those books but I was not allowed with the pen or pencil into that room. Of course due to some damage control preservation. Whenever I enter that room the old book presented in that room will give me a warm hug through its dedicated book smell. So whenever I entered that room I used to sniff those book's wonderful smell and will open those books and there I could find the coffee-stained color inner pages. When I go through those books I used to see the small classic old ads for Pond's Powder Tin, Colgate tooth powder, Hamam soap, etc.   The small tiny black letters, the yellow stained pages, and the pencil art inbetween the novels all were purely nostalgic to remember.  Since my 7th grade I started to read my regional novels and then when I hit 9th the public exam pre-coaching
