Hi Maggie!: A Novel written by Ajay Chowdhary

Image
S ometimes a book fills you with so much nostalgia that you pause and ponder over your life events in context of the book and this is exactly what 'Hi Maggie' does to you. The first story starts off on a cute and humourous note with Sanjiv and Radha. It moves on to Avishek and Raj's stories which talk about their love and loss. I kind of felt for Tanaaz and Avishek as to how fate cruelly separated them. In fact, the stories are so well shaped that the threads of separation reach out through the book and prick the heart of the reader. It feels like personal loss that we have all experienced at some point or the other. I liked that the female characters have been given a voice here though the stories are being seen through the eyes of the four friends. Highly recommended and looking forward to read more from the author.

Change Your Habits, Change Your Life : Your Guide to an Awesome Life by Ashdin Doctor

Image
C hange Your Habits, Change Your Life : Your Guide to an Awesome Life written by Ashdin Doctor. This book will come under the self-help or non-fiction genre. The title of the book explains the inner content of the book well and good. The book cover image is very simple with not any fancy images, but for the self-help books, I am okay with this kind of simplicity and a thumbs up from my end for the cover image. The reason for me to pick this book is the title and the blurb for sure, I am not a person who is lethargic or kind of lazy but I am not consistent in following my daily routines and even achieving my wishes, and also wanted to know the reason why I am constantly withdrawing in the middle. Did I get my answer to the question will let you know that below. If you wanted to change your habits for an awesome life this book will be the best kickstart for the same for sure. Without any kind of page filler, the book started its tips and tricks right after the content page. The book...

The Naani Diaries by Riva Razdan

Image
This review is powered by Blogchatter Book Review Program  T he Naani Diaries written by Riva Razdan. This book will come under the contemprory fiction genre. The book title is simple and classy. The cover image portrays the book's genre and its vibe. The main protagonist of the story is Radhika and she is soon going to be in her 30s. As mentioned in the blurb she was in New Yorker where she was in love with a man who broke her heart abruptly. After the terrible heartbreak, she decided to have an authentic arranged Indian wedding so she travels to India, from there the plot hits new twists with the touch of her Naani and Indian family drama. A slight peek-a-boo, there was also a hot neighbor in the story along with her fiance. So I can get that authentic Indian story with a hint of western and the punch of romance in it.  This book speaks about the life of a strong, talented, yet heartbroken girl. I can feel that the characters in the stories are of upper-middle-class people, ...

A Crate of Rags & Bones by L.A. NOLAN

Image
A Crate of Rags & Bones written by L.A. NOLAN . This book will come under the short story genre. This book has a simple and normal title. The cover image of the book may not look that scary but the inside stories were spooky. Usually, I prefer short stories once in a while because they are easy to read. In this book, short stories are based on thrillers and horror kind genres. This book has twenty short stories in it and each story is of a different genre such as thriller, mystery, horror, horror thriller, etc. But all these stories are interesting and intruding to read. This book has short stories with a different and unique kind of thrilling vibe to them. Each story presented in the book was totally different from the others with its own unique essence. I like how each genre of the stories was mentioned below each story title on the content page, which makes the reading easy by picking the stories by genre. The stories were not of the same length some were really shor...

Rumour Books India Branches Facing The Earth by Dr. Anitha Chakravarthy Sriram.

Image
R umour Books India Branches Facing The Earth written by Dr. Anitha Chakravarthy Sriram . This book will come under the short story genre. The title of the book is simple and even the cover image is average looking to me. When I compared it to the stories inside the book the cover image can be even better than this. I like to read short stories once in a while when I get readers struck. I choose this book because of its genre, it is supernatural elements based on short stories. The book has ten short stories that were covered within one hundred and seventy-plus pages. So the stories presented in this book are not so short nor too long, it lasts for a good seven to eight pages each. The stories are not so creepy or so scary but it has the right amount of thriller and supernatural elements in them. I have read some horror stories prior, but in this book, I have seen something unique, all the stories have sort of believable or we can say it has the vibe of our childhood stories that we h...

Offerings to Selene by Sophie Jupillat Posey

Image
O fferings to Selene written by Sophie Jupillat Posey . This book will come under the poetry genre. The book has a very cute and beautiful title. The book cover image is the main reason for me to choose this book. Let me try to explain the beauty of the book title first, Selene is the name of the Greek goddess of the moon. So this book is the offering to her. As we all know the moon is one of the most beautiful elements of nature, so a poetry book that describes the beauty of the moon and dedicates it as the offering to the moon god, so do I have to describe to you the sweetness of this book any more? This is the book that is full and fully dedicated to the moon and the beauty of the moon. This a short read which has only sixty-plus pages and can be read within one hour for sure, but I would suggest you to read it slowly and steadily to understand the real and immense meaning of those words. The book has eighteen chapters in it and all are named perfectly as per its content. N...
